Mechanism of action
Selective GLP-1 receptor agonist. It enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon, slows gastric emptying and increases central satiety. Its modification (an amino-acid substitution plus a fatty-acid chain that binds albumin) gives it a ~1-week half-life.
