Synthetic fragment related to thymosin β4
Fragment associated with cell migration and angiogenesis (proposed).
Back to technical sheets- Class
- Synthetic fragment related to thymosin β4
- Also known as
- Research use only; not approved for human use
Mechanism of action
Related to thymosin β4, a protein that regulates actin and participates in cell migration. Proposed effects on angiogenesis and repair are attributed to it, mainly in preclinical studies.
Evidence
Preclinical. Thymosin β4 has been explored in some early trials, but TB-500 as such remains in the research domain. Not approved.
Studied uses
- Repair and healing (preclinical models)
Safety considerations
- Human safety not established
- Research sources without regulatory control
- Not approved for human use
