BPC-157
Pentadecapeptide (sequence derived from a gastric protein)
Repair peptide with mostly preclinical evidence.
Back to technical sheets- Class
- Pentadecapeptide (sequence derived from a gastric protein)
- Also known as
- Research use only; not approved for human use
Mechanism of action
Proposed mechanisms: modulation of angiogenesis (via VEGFR2), interaction with the nitric-oxide pathway and promotion of fibroblast migration. Most data come from rodent models.
Evidence
Preclinical. There are no robust human clinical trials supporting its efficacy or safety. Not approved.
Studied uses
- Tendon and soft-tissue repair (preclinical models only)
Safety considerations
- Human safety not established
- Highly variable quality and purity from research sources
- Not approved for human use in any indication

Net content is the fraction of the vial’s weight that is actually peptide, after discounting water, salts and excipients. It is the figure to calculate with, not the label weight.
